#politicslive the Tory interest is to criminalise and deport labour voters. White UK native predators will not be the target of this inquiry

I have a childhood toy headcanon where orko from he-man, action man, batman, the xenomorph from alien, and some random wrestling figures often quested together and had side quests and subplots just because they are the toys I happened to have

My tea collection grew without my knowledge. Today's combo is Marigold with a Twinings Digest 🍵🫠

I think there's going to be a bloodbath at Anfield 💀 Sparta

I visited Battersea Power Station this past weekend. The sights were quite impressive.

Science fiction is a "genre" I like. A lot of the good sci-fi writing, at least the stuff I enjoy/get excited to talk about happens on TV

I think sci-fi suffers when edited to fit a feature film's runtime. I would name so few genuinely great sci-fi films compared to how many have been made in total

The Way of Kings, chapter 49, To Care. With book five looming this paragraph feels more than just throw away speculation from Kaladin. 🟦 is literally Dalinar, 🟩 was the Heralds. What is going to happen to Dalinar in Wind and Truth?

This interlude is not just a bit of filler to flesh out Shallan's background. This is the beginning of a villain's origin story.

Stormlight Archive SPOILERS.

To this present moment, following the events of Rhythm of War, Rock has returned to the Horneater Peaks to face justice for his acts of violence... Except what if he returns home for punishment, and instead becomes a king?

The Traitors gives away (up to) £120,000. An unfathomable amount of money for most people. That's 1/3 of a below average house.

I feel like Claudia Winkleman is really underrated. She's a British TV institution but I never see it being acknowledged

Stormlight Archive SPOILERS.

On my reread I left a note over this passage (WoK ch.12) but it just struck me who Elhokar was seeing... What if Elhokar was seeing his Spren? The whole time he was paranoid it's because he wasn't alone. Oh no, this makes me so sad 😢

This evening's film was Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning. Damn, they really did it again. MI has become such a reliable vehicle for quality action, perhaps more so than any other action IP out there. I certainly think we should be ready to have the Mission Impossible > James Bond conversation.../

I think it's safe to say that when a film by Emerald Fennell drops it is our obligation to see what she's done.

I watched Saltburn and it kept me on its hook.

I didn't have much to add about Saltburn on Letterboxd boxd.it/5qoYxL

Sitting in a Cineworld waiting for The Boy and the Heron to start. Two men are having a discussion about where they're sitting in a screening with allocated seating. The ads haven't started yet, but I'd quite like to thump them 😊

Saw Godzilla Minus One. At one pivotal point when Godzilla uses its atomic breath, a child present, in the following silence said, "wow," purely in awe. I can't offer a better review than that. This film is a heartbreaker in places; one that rejects war & encourages living. I recommend seeing it

It is in fact amazing to me how many things I've lived through are now "old people" things. TV static. Rotary phones. 8-track tapes. The universal agreement that being a Nazi was a bad thing. New Coke!

My Stormlight before December 2024 reread is going slowly. Great passages like this are why Sanderson slaps so much, "her medium was the soul itself."

Knarly eye condition. I saw a pterygium irl for the first time today. They have a vascular growth extending from their sclera & slowly growing across their cornea which will eventually obscure the pupil affecting their visual acuity. Below; an extreme case of the condition taken from Google images

After a day on the platform, I have to say the best thing is how refreshing it is to click into a post to read the comments and actually find nothing but comments relevant to the post.
