As of June 15, 71.8% of the 56,397 people in ICE detention had no criminal conviction. It costs taxpayers ~$165/day for a bed in a detention facility.
So we're now paying ~$6.7 million/day to keep people who haven't been convicted of a crime locked in prisons.
