Liverpool, politics, theatre, wine, cricket, travel, Eurovison, family, republican (in the UK sense not US) - and more. Wry observations. General disdain.
Just until enough Brexit supporters are... which won't take long!

In their defence, there is electoral risk associated with arguing to reverse Brexit relatively soon after the referendum. But that's still the right argument to make.

Isn't that the point? The majority of people who might vote Labour are probably closer to Burnham's position than the current party line.

Brexit has been an absolute disaster. The party musn't keep on pretending otherwise, especially with Farage as their main rival.

Well he posted it here at 5.02pm yesterday. From his own account. Which is pretty easy to find if you search on, erm, "Andy Burnham".

He literally issued a statement yesterday saying he wanted to stand.

Absolutely pathetic excuse. Shame on them.

Another great piece.

Love the mention of Adam Mars-Jones' short story collection, "Lantern Lecture". The title piece in that is one of the finest pieces of writing you could ever come across.

Agree they're a snapshot, but his net approval rating is horrendous - and far worse than any of the other party leaders.

Labour is doing so much good stuff. But there have been too many ghastly mistakes.

The right (and Greens) will be far more worried about facing Burnham than Starmer.

I'd agree with all of that, for the non-bloody half of the movie!

Is this going to become a weekly Bluesky saga?!

Your comment about building through local government makes the LibDem comparison even more valid.

And both parties gained support from people disaffected with a Labour government!
