In many cities, few to no stars are visible at night. Our starlessness erects one further barrier between us and the nonhuman world, and removes the historically lived nightly reminder that we are a small part of something much, much larger than ourselves. I truly believe this causes psychic damage

The USDA has funding set aside to keep food assistance programs running during emergencies.

Trump just won’t release it.

440,000 Minnesotans - and millions more Americans - will pay the price.

So my 5th (!) book of poetry will be published by Slope Editions in Feb/Mar 2026. It was chosen for publication by Ariana Reines, who's a hero of mine. It's called *Want for Nothing* and I'm SO excited for people to read it!!

I made a gallery of almost all of the poems I wrote at Somerville Open Studios this year. It was a joy to spend a weekend writing. The clunkers were outnumbered by poems people were actually happy to receive, which was nice! jonwoodward.net/openstudios2... #poetry #typewriter #somervilleopenstudios

Yeah I don't know what this is or what it's going to be. Pretty fun if gravity's not just "down," though

i just realized decorator crabs would be a perfect inspiration for a weird playable character. you can stick things into yourself from points along your journey. a pebble from the town you were born in. a piece of seaglass from a place you met a cute lizard person. some antlers you find in a field.

Video game idea, quick mockup. There's a two-player competitive game lurking in here. The "sun" (and center of gravity) relocates when you collide with it. I didn't expect to end up in a stable orbit... #games #videogames #perihelion #gamedev

dreamt a political candidate claimed, as if it were something to be proud of, that he never dreamed, not once, and when a journalist called him out for being out of touch because dreaming is such a universal experience, he shrugged and said he had no interest in “getting nintendoed by the moon"
