I don't think anybody owes me their follow nor do I with them a follow back. I am careful about who I give attention to.

If they want to unfollow, that's their prerogative.

If someone follows me and I look at their account and it's nothing but repost of other large accounts for instance, I won't follow back because they are generating anything I'm not already seeing.

I'm a human being and I'm not an influencer. I don't want my feed full of everything on Bluesky

People follow me because they like my content. I did not ask them to, and they owe me nothing. They get something out of seeing what I produce, so they follow

Big accounts who do follow for follow are ✨farming✨ you. They post memes or cliches you agree with, then over time start to target you with false information, building in scope and scale.

Accounts that are actually popular tend to have high follower count and low follow backs. There's s reason.

"Follow for follow" accounts are usually grifters. They create generic profiles to appeal to the masses & often claim a political stance, then farm huge followings by promising a follow back.
