This is exactly what @sethcotlar.bsky.social & @badtoss.bsky.social were talking about yesterday. Christians, especially evangelicals, can assert their beliefs that their religious beliefs should be the law of the land, while also being treated as not “political,” in ways no other group is allowed.
This is the key part. Only Christian Americans are allowed to confidently proclaim the truth of their beliefs, if anyone else does it they’re trying to “ram their beliefs down your throat.”

Are the people who cheered Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn Roe religious? Even without naming them, and even though no one thinks *Trump* is religious, your average political reporter will
answer “yes” in a flash. Because antiabortion or creationism or Zionism are automatically religious.

Are the rabbis suing to protect abortion rights on religious grounds religious? When Mamdani attends services at an anti-Zionist synagogue, is he among religious Jews? All of these questions your average politics reporter would pause and think about. But…

Was the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther religious? Is Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock? Discussion of Joe Lieberman’s religion barely rose above “he doesn’t have horns” in the 2000 election (“can he do the duties of VP on Saturday, the Jewish Sunday?,” was an extended discourse).

Somehow I don’t think Trump is gonna threaten to sanction the Trump regime in defense of our protesters.
Trump, during an "economic" speech today in Detroit, can't help but fixate on "wine mom gangs," saying they're "doing these fake riots." They go practice. They go to areas, they take hotel rooms, and they all practice together. It’s a whole scam. We’re finding out who’s funding all this stuff."

Trump on the USA: "We have to respect our law enforcement. At a very minimum, that woman was very, very disrespectful to law enforcement... You can't do that with law enforcement, whether it's police, or ICE, or Border Patrol or anybody else.”

To @jamellebouie.net’s point yesterday, since the Republican majority won’t vote even to make ICE obey the Constitution, isn’t this basically a commitment not to vote for ICE funding? But in a way that forces people to question whether ICE deserves to exist (if it can’t follow constitutional rules).

#HB2157 is, I think, the strongest generative AI bill under consideration, because it sets forth clear operating standards and risk management compliance requirements. It also creates a "duty of care," with a private right of action.
