Rural hospitals are already closing at an alarming rate and a big part of that is cuts to government funded healthcare (Medicaid) because private insurance does not pay as much and so few can afford it. Government healthcare keeps a lot of infrastructure possible that private insurance can't/won't.

Half the amount that everyone currently pays could provide universal healthcare. Private health companies don’t need to exist. Eliminate them. And use your collective buying power and economies of scale to get it done. Every cent of their profit is healthcare denied.

my rent is basically as much as my monthly income yet i will still give $5 [the min, sorry!] to my truly amazing friend katemarie. im begging you to please please please do the same- or more if you can of course!
