The Ballista botnet exploits an unpatched RCE vulnerability (CVE-2023-1389) in TP-Link Archer AX-21 routers, infecting over 6,000 devices since April 2023. Detected on January 10, 2025, it uses a malware dropper to establish a C2 channel on port 82, enabling RCE and DoS attacks.
