My five year old is hearing “Twelve Days of Christmas” by Bob & Doug Mackenzie and her mind has been absolutely shattered. “Five golden toques!?” “13 days of Christmas!?” “Donuts!?”

So good day.

The land is gone. The grades are moving. Plan B is in motion.

Tuesday’s school board meeting was a sobering admission: the District cannot buy its way out of the capacity crisis, so it’s reconfiguring its way out.

On the #SD40 agenda for Tuesday: A vote on permanent, district-wide grade reconfiguration (the "no new land" plan). Also on deck: a request for safety barriers on Royal Ave after a car landed on Qayqayt's property, and updating SOGI policy to reflect student identity. #NewWest

In late Nov. researcher @kwardvancouver.bsky.social pointed me to an OPCC investigation summary into now ex-VPD officer’s abusive relationship with a teenage girl. They met when he made a policing presentation at her high school & she expressed interest in being a cop. thetyee.ca/News/2025/12... 1/

Sometimes I write about #SD40 because I love #NewWest and my kid loves her school.

I believe in transparency, honesty, open communication, and long-range planning, which are values our school board champions.

New Westminster school board SD40 was forced to pass a budget tonight cutting EA positions. This is because the Ministry of Education doesn’t pay for portables and can’t build schools. @davidebybc.bsky.social promised more EAs in schools, but here we are. Promises made, promises broken. #bcpoli

Don’t forget there’s the Tin Soldier opening on Friday here in #NewWest, 4-8 (opening at 5 so you can probably make Valentine’s Day dinner). I’ll definitely be there since my union built the thing and I live across the street. #local280 #unionpride #sheetmetal www.newwestcity.ca/calendar-of-...

"Transform" is one word for this, @globalnews.ca. Others would be "violent dismantling of marginalized communities," "land seizure by developers," or "fascist urban takeover."

Shameful bit of news propaganda, reprinting Ken Sim's every key message without critique. 1/

Some Conservative MPs arrived drunk at the House of Commons last Thu night for the GST relief vote. They screamed, disrupted proceedings that parliamentary pages were removed from the unsafe opposition lobby. In most workplaces, showing up intoxicated is grounds 4 dismissal.

This is super disgusting. The corporation is completely out of touch. It’s bewildering to me that we treat it as a company to make money rather than an essential service.

hey have you seen my site? its terrible. there's dozens of articles on B.C.'s drug policy massacre, which I try to explain as a complicated catastrophe, colliding crises long foreseen, a mass social murder which is the result of policy choices we continue to make
