Sounds like he'll soon join the pantheon of the immortals.

And if we're lucky...

Spot on. Anyone who disagrees hasn't a fucking clue IMO.

Boy, that Darwin Nunez had some pretty good ideas!

They both need to go IMO.

We were, although our offense looked awful. IIRC the nadir was the Raiders game we somehow lost. My patience was tested after that. For me the mistake was keeping Baalke and hiring Tomsula - I think Harbaugh wears teams out. We'll see what happens at LAC I guess!

Have a great one :)

There are so many good ones during the Harbaugh years. I'll come to it (again) - but I wasn't sad when he left. it had gone stale. But that first three years? Damn, those were some great times.

I'll try! Keep me on task :)

I think there will be some nice memories in there (2010 having Wembley, the first game I attended), but yeah, it's tough til Harbaugh arrives...

Wait til I get to the Singletary year. AH WANT WINNAZ.

Live in person, that is.

With Alex. All that to come when I look at those years though, including the first #49ers game I ever saw live in 2010 #TroySmithIsMyHero

We were suddenly a gritty, defense minded team instead of what we'd been for the previous two decades. And it really didn't work. Norv Turner woke the offense up a bit the following year but it never lasted. We were putrid offensively til Harbaugh despite a brief spike when we played the spread

IMO by transitioning to this weird power run based offense and man blocking etc - we totally ripped up the Walsh blueprint. It never really came back til Kyle although Harbaugh implemented parts of it.

Very kind comments, thank you.

The crazy thing is, some of the people on that staff weren't bad. McCarthy, Ben McAdoo and Vance Joseph were all on that staff that became good coordinators or head coaches. But in the key spots they had retreads and poor hires. We lost our identity as the 49ers

Thank you!

My warm feelings for Nolan dissipated by 2007 though, iirc.

Yeah man, I was 15 in 2005. So was a real formative year. I was drawn to the sport pretty much as soon as I watched it, the strategy and brutality got me. There was something nice about supporting a young team trying to make its way, too.

Ha! You have to have the bad with the good. For this one it's less about the season and more about my journey into following. Hopefully there's some warm stories in there - even the crappy early years (up til Harbaugh) have a place in my heart for me learning to love the team, players and city.
