About 2 years ago I resolved to start a writing career, thanks to the intervention of one of the best people I've ever met who supported me through everything.

Here's my portfolio, aka every article I've ever written.

So far.

I have a headache and a column to file, please, please, get off my lawn. And stay hydrated, cos I'm pretty sure that's why I've got a headache.

But I reckon there are a ton of NFL franchises who would trade rosters and situations with us. Enough with the goddamn whining.
January 26, 2026 at 10:23 PM
Kyle and Lynch took over a completely lost franchise in 2017. Since then, we've had two Super Bowl appearances and two NFC Championship appearances, as well as what happened this year. It's not a bad return. It'll likely never be seen as the best til they win the big one...
January 26, 2026 at 10:23 PM
And that's it. If nothing else matters, that's why Singletary's 'I want winners' press conference gets dumber by the year. You can only have so many 'winnaz'. Especially in coaching.
January 26, 2026 at 10:22 PM
Perhaps it comes from being British and following other sports where there's multiple trophies, but I don't think people grasp how hard it is to win a Super Bowl. it took Andy Reid twenty-one years to win one, and now he's got multiple. There's 1/32 'winners' in the NFL each year.

Could they have done better in certain picks or at certain spots? Absolutely, but you can say that for almost any team in the league, for crying out loud.
January 26, 2026 at 10:18 PM
I'd like to see more team speed. I'd like to see a healthier roster. I'd like to see some investment in the OL. I'd like to see a safety that isn't a dumb hitter. But drafted badly? Cmon now. The majority of our starting lineup are draft investments from the Lynch/Shanahan tenure.
January 26, 2026 at 10:18 PM
That isn't to say there aren't issues, but I'm actively not engaging with people who tell me how bad Kyle is or how bad our drafting is. Neither are true and it's pretty obvious if you know how to read, analyse, and watch the game. #49ers

I can't articulate it well enough, or I'd write it down properly, but I absolutely refuse to engage in this #49ers doomerism that seems to be taking hold here and elsewhere. We've just had a fun season with a young defensive core, came within a game of the #1 seed, and won a playoff game.
January 26, 2026 at 10:14 PM
Feels like the #49ers DC search is very, very quiet. Maybe a hire's coming out of the blue...?
January 26, 2026 at 7:03 PM
Jonathan Gannon to the Packers, one potential #49ers DC candidate (to some) off the list.

Bobby Slowik as the Dolphins OC. Good chance for him to right the ship after his career stalled with the Texans (who honestly didn't get much better for firing him) #49ers

Fantastic news, probably right for him too, he's still so young and those jobs have their own set of issues. #49ers
49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak has removed himself from consideration for head coaching vacancies, per sources. The Raiders and Steelers had requested to interview him. He prefers to keep working with Kyle Shanahan.

Endo hasn't played in months, I genuinely feel sorry for him being thrown into this mess.

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

The San Francisco 49ers’ Season Is Over, So What Now?
It ended badly, but that doesn't mean it didn't have some positives. What comes next for the 49ers?

Trent Williams could blow the whole thing up. Luckily...well...he might not. #fttb

49ers' terrible position planning leaves Trent Williams with all the leverage
As of now, there's no reason to suspect future Hall of Fame left tackle Trent Williams isn't going to be back with the team next season.

Seems to me the ones who say 'Labour is about winning elections/power' the most actually mean 'providing it's our wing of the party, otherwise we'll fuck it as much as humanly possible'

I thought I'd posted this earlier but apparently not:

The #49ers need to replace Robert Saleh, so here's four potential candidates they need to look at - most of them ASAP. #fttb

Robert Saleh's departure means 49ers must hone in on these 4 replacements
With Robert Saleh departing for a second time, the 49ers are again in a position where they need a new defensive coordinator.
