The smoke hole in the townhouse roof at Town Creek acts as a camera obscura, & is especially dramatic on windy, partly cloudy days. A camera obscura is a unit that projects images of the outside world onto a dark surface, from the Latin words camera meaning "room" & obscura meaning "dark.”
