The thing about Newsom is that if it’s politically expedient, he’s shown a tendency to disavow support for vulnerable people. He needs to be grilled more about that. But because it’s politically expedient now, he’s facing reality and saying what we need Democrats at all levels to be saying.

A Chicano/Mexican accent doesn’t mean you’re undocumented or even an immigrant at all.

But cutting off California -- the single biggest "donor state" in the nation, one that sends in to the fed'l gov't ~$80 billion more than it gets back -- is straight-up theft.
