Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax are going to look at their profits and assess demand, as all good companies do. US demand is going to be artificially squashed unless blue states coordinate to circumvent the federal government. So many ways this could go. Canada/EU/UK need to seize the reins.

As a Canadian, I find it appalling that journalists & politicians downplay Trump’s ramblings about annexing an ally & trading partner. Parker Molloy nails it…“Sometimes a piece of journalism is so wildly off-base that it perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with political coverage.”

They helped bring us to this point, but at least they recognize this stupidity for what it is. That's more than I can say for a lot of formerly respected news organizations.
That really is quite the headline, from the pretty right-wing Wall Street Journal.

Idiots like Elon Musk confuse being nice with being weak and being mean with being strong. Trump and Musk thought they'd sucker-punch Canada and that was the end of the story. Right now it looks like Canada is playing ice hockey with guys who think they're playing pool.

Looking forward to a comprehensive ventilation program here in BC too @lisabeare.bsky.social @josieosborne.bsky.social @davidebybc.bsky.social
The Canadian province of New Brunswick (population: 775,610) will spend $ 14 million to improve ventilation in its schools. This represents an investment of $47,000 per classroom, or $18 per capita. In many countries, such investment in ventilation is still rare.

Eight new school projects announced to meet needs of growing population
The provincial government will invest $193.7 million during the 2025-26 fiscal year to help address infrastructure needs in the education system.

It can be simple to protect our and others health — by masking in public with K95 or N95 masks, testing before gatherings, increasing ventilation, and staying home if sick. Not only will this help mitigate the spread of COVID, but also all other respiratory illnesses of the season, like flu and RSV.
Opinion: This holiday season, let's spread kindness, not COVID
We're not hearing much about the virus anymore, but it's the gift that keeps on giving — with long-term effects of notable concern.

Today's essential read for all Canadians.
Without tougher scrutiny by the news media and fiercer rebuttals by political opponents, Poilievre has no reason to change tactics. But with a federal election looming, it’s essential to put his blanket assertions finally to the test.
