Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Hey DOGE bros - found some of that wasteful spending you were looking for.
How many gov employees could have kept working and feeding their families with the estimated $2.5M this stunt cost?

Tariffs on Mexico are apparently delayed by a month! Mexico commits to another large deployment of its National Guard to the northern border, claiming they will focus on preventing fentanyl trafficking. Of course, since most fentanyl is smuggled by US citizens, that's really just for show.

These are not “settlements” they are “bribes” and should be described accurately. The reporting even explains that CBS executives believe this payment will help avert Trump blocking their merger. Thats a bribe. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/30/b...

No one knows what caused last night's tragic crash outside DCA.

Investigations are ongoing, and no one - not Donald Trump or anyone else - should be drawing conclusions until all the facts have been released.

But here is what we do know. (1/7)

I wish those who voted for Trump would read and understand what they’ve voted for but they won’t. Messages here on this app are likely speaking to the choir and I think do not influence those who need to be influenced.
Trump doesn't care if the economy crashes and communities suffer. His goal is to force you and your family to accept a lower standard of living while he and his friends get richer. Cutting support for law enforcement, schools, small businesses and firefighters is chaos by design.
President Trump’s order freezing trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans sent officials at schools, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and many others into a frantic scramble to understand the extent of the directive. Here's what to know.

Does anyone know what happened to Donald Trump's trip to LA to tour the wildfires? I thought he planned to go today, and invited Adam Shiff to go along; however, Mr. Shiff had to decline due to nomination votes today. Curious that there is no reporting about Trump's trip? #TrumpTripto LA

Dems would get much more traction finding and promoting people saying what they know and experience.

What has more impact, This man speaking his mind or the Dems speaking “in unison “ ?

A reminder that Los Angeles had its hottest summer in history last year. Southern California has received just 2% of "normal" rainfall during the current "rainy" season.

These fires are a direct result of a warming & drying atmosphere caused by burning fossil fuels.

We are in a climate emergency.

Congratulations to Exxon Mobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips for all the work they did on the LA fires! Without their hard work, it's unlikely so much of LA would be on fire.

Thank you to everyone who works in the fossil fuel industry for everything you do to destroy human civilization.
The LA fires are a profound example of what climate scientists have been struggling to prevent for decades.

I hope everyone remembers that oil and gas companies, with full knowledge, created this future, in exchange for their windfall profits and geopolitical power.

Wildfires are now engulfing the city in January.

But some politicians still claim the climate crisis is a "hoax" as they do the bidding of Big Oil.

What planet are they living on?
