BREAKING: We won a court order blocking Pres. Trump’s attempt to stifle First Amendment rights and gain political control over the University of California system.

The President can't force people to think or believe only the way he does. This is a key victory for our clients and the rule of law.

BREAKING: A federal court blocked the Trump-Vance administration’s attempt to cut off food assistance for 42 million people during the ongoing government shutdown.

We'll keep fighting to ensure that federal programs serve their lawful purpose: to help, not harm, people and communities.

Good lord this brought tears to my eyes this morning.
Here in Seattle, furloughed NOAA employees were out in the pouring rain cleaning up beaches yesterday, part of a national week of service organized by federal workers who can't do their jobs due to the shutdown.

Story by @heyjohnryan.bsky.social at KUOW, our federally defunded public radio station.

Y’all here is a fun fact: Portland has a brand new volunteer organization called “operation inflation” that allows people to borrow inflatable costumes for protests. They just started a couple weeks ago and have like a 160 costume library (and counting because people keep donating).

Experts like: pediatricians, ER nurses, air traffic controllers, earthquake scientists, climate scientists, meteorologists, epidemiologists, gun violence experts, food safety experts and on and on and on.

All the people who keep and care for the safety of others and their broader community.
RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.

Disgusting.
Across the rubicon again and again.

This should be a career ending moment for Mike Davis. May he seek solace in a merciful god who can receive him as a deeply, profoundly broken human being.
Hakeem Jeffries posted pictures of two Rep. Members posing with “Young Republicans” who were part of a racist text thread (as reported by Politico).

In response, Mike Davis (well-connected in Trump World & on the Hill) called Jeffries a “house slave” for George Soros - proving Jeffries’ point.

Duty, Honor, Integrity, Truth: what will you do today to uphold them?

How will you teach your children about what is right and just in this world?

How will you respect yourself and your ancestors in this crucible?

100% The willingness of elite, wealthy people to debase themselves for a paycheck is astounding.
I continue to think that one of the reasons this country is falling apart is the wholesale abandonment of public virtue as a broadly shared aspiration. Or even something people should be embarrassed about if they don’t have it.
Fuckin yikes, man

Praying for a politic that can see one another as simply, elementally children of God. We are not enemies, we are the human family. We are wasting so much capital and energy on fighting and hating one another.

Yes. An amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it. And these days it requires a whole lot of heart and courage to boot.
Our comment on the DOE CWG report is done. It tips the scales at 439 pages, approx. 3x longer than the DOE report.
This is related to Brandolini's law: The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.

Example: refuting one sentence.
