About the outrage over Klein's oped: He is clearly afraid for his own life. That's what is driving the oped. I would be too if I were a very public pundit right now who had JUST called for the shut down of the government in response to Trump fascism.

These are the names of the people who have died in US immigration custody over the past year, almost all under 50 yrs. old, some in their 20s. This list does not include those who died running from ICE.

But this is the President of the United States saying he is going to go around killing people because he thinks they're criminals. And already did.

Nazism is optics and aesthetics on one side, torture and death on the other. These two sides are indivisible. Note Trump's obsession with things being "beautiful": walls, women, streets, mansions, bills, etc.

New— Nazis with giant swastika flags marched in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday with two police escorts. They shouted “white power” and said to the woman who took this video (reshared here with her permission) “fuck you, n***** bitch.”

Police did not intervene. I cannot find local news coverage.

I can write a perfectly great recommendation letter using chatgpti. The problem is, it makes me feel sick to do it. But it doesn't make the next generation feel sick, so why wouldn't they? We should definitely abolish the recommendation letter now.
