A minotaur with a sword sunk in his chest and several cuts on his body, but from each cut flowers and flower petals flow instead of blood. His face looks sad and pleading, and he raises a hand as if to fend off an attacker. A king and his knight steal a quiet moment away together in a hidden alcove. The king leans in for a kiss and the knight subtly draws him close. The yearning is palpable, haha. Medusa stands proud and regal atop the stone statues of many soldiers that she's petrified. A sad selkie woman floats below the water, tenderly embracing one of the seals that swim around her.

Yeah! Each time I've taken it he's helped encourage me to experiment more with my art and dig a little deeper into what inspires me vs. just working what I feel like I *should* be doing (which is a constant challenge, haha)

I'm taking another mentorship class with Sam Weber through SmArt School! (my third one with Sam since 2020, haha)

I've been working in sketchbooks more as part of a class assignment; here are some of my recent sketches 👉👈 I've been trying to draw what comes to me in the moment, and not worry too much about the output or making everything perfect, but also put time into each to make it feel 'done' as a sketch.
Graphite and white charcoal sketch on toned paper of a woman with stylized hair Graphite and white charcoal sketch on toned paper of a figure with a stylized owl headdress. The wings of the headdress cover the figure's eyes. A graphite sketch of a a face surrounded by a sphere of churning, splashing water A graphite sketch of a beared man with a sword plunging through his forehead and out his chin (in a stylized, non gory way).

Is there anyone in the Seattle area who really wants to get into macro photography and has a Nikon? I'm giving up on heavy camera gear and I'm going to sell a ton of stuff including a barely used speedlight kit and commander, Laowa 100mm Macro, Nikkor 10-20mm, Manfrotto tripod with ball head...

Celeste dos Cravos (2025), acrylic gouache (+ tiny bit of watercolour) on hot pressed paper (A3)

The traditional version of the illustration I painted digitally last year, now as I had first envisioned it :)
Illustration by Eleonor Piteira featuring a woman on a balcony, holding a bouquet of red carnations, giving one of them to a soldier passing below, placing it on the muzzle of his gun while he looks up at her. All around, other soldiers walk beside him, some wearing red carnations on the muzzles of their guns too, others waiting for their turn to get one. On the background, Portuguese tiles frame the woman, while the balcony's railing slowly transforms into a streetlamp typical of Lisbon (with a caravel and 2 ravens, the symbols of the city).

"my child could make this"

are they making it though? as in, do you let them? are they allowed to pursue art and the joy it provides? are they creating? its so hard to create nowadays. is your child given the abundance of freedom that creativity offers, or are they stifled by your judgemental mind?

Crying was something I had to hide and only do in private, because family got upset with me instead of comforting me. It took a long time and lots of therapy to not have a panic response any time I started tearing up in front of people. 👍 ahhh, generational trauma 😅

Just got a call from the vet, she’s confirmed the intestinal blockage and is going into surgery between today and tomorrow, gave me an estimate cost of $600 on top of the hospitalization costs

We need all the help we can get

I HATE having to do this again, but emergencies dont care for timing

my oldest cat is currently hospitalized with a possible intestinal blockage, and is most likely going to need surgery

if you could spare a couple bucks to help me help her, I'd appreciate it a lot
