not seen it mentioned elsewhere so: my theory is that Elon has become obsessed with Britain because he's essentially stopped sleeping due to drugs and/or madness but for like six hours of his nights Americans are sleeping so Brits are the one English-speaking timezone awake and posting

The Gregg Wallace sacking is not only a good example of how the BBC seems to have a real problem standing up to bad behaviour but also how completely average men with no discernible talent are able to drift to the top and eat pudding on TV for hundreds of thousands of pounds

Interesting to see the universal outpouring of affection and respect for Mishal Husain as she moves on, (inded a v sad loss) versus the universal outpouring of 'I told you so' and disdain for Gregg Wallace. To my mind it makes the case for having *properly qualified* people in major presenting jobs

I think the X/Twitter problem was largely an engagement problem. I don't think people realllly left because they were radically opposed to Musk (I mean, some definitely after the UK riots comments and Trump-endorsing) but it just felt pointless being 'ignored' and having no real human engagement
