It was a whole lot of vitriol from someone whose is retired and whose house is like two blocks from Council chambers. Not everyone can easily eat first and get there by 5:30. I’m all for all the food! How cool would it be if we had city buffets in city chambers! Neighborhood noshes! Zoning by Zings!

Interestingly, the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, who had previously opposed the infrastructure, eventually reversed their position and became one of the city’s most vocal cycling proponents—calling protected bike lanes “the way of the future” and a “win–win–win for all users”.

People of all ages and abilities ride bicycles on protected cycling infrastructure on the streets of Downtown Vancouver.

US multifamily housing is 6 times safer than single family homes - and safer even than older multifamily buildings

I can report that there are more Ubers/Lyfts on Main and the side streets than I have ever seen before. Which, good for not drunk driving, but the bike lanes are f’ed and there are like double the normal number of cars, so hmm.

I’m two blocks away and can’t hear anything. Maybe a vague thumping noise? Like, we were astonished how quiet it is. I think we are below the bowl and the sound must be going over us.

Three years and no response from the city for this report on a dangerous intersection. I bike this way regularly and cars never yield to pedestrians even when the walk signal is activated. This area has very high pedestrian traffic.
