sure Delon was prettier, but the ineffable frenchness of Trintignant's face makes him my Quintessential French Man of Cinema. a face where when you read he was born in 1930 and his dad worked for the french resistance while his mom had an affair with a nazi officer you go, oh ok THAT'S what that is
