Penguins18 covers their face with some egg later on in this thread with an incorrect description of MN2, but they are completely correct that what Timothy is saying about her top 2 priorities is untrue. Pretty clearly so, actually! So why frame it so sloppily?
I'm quoting from her actual interview with where she says they're her priorities but you can also look at her voting record where she did things like join Republicans to attack Joe Biden for not being harsh enough toward immigrants, block student loan relief, and block environmental protections.

I agree with this thread and have two semi-related things to add:
1.) If my memory is correct (big if these days 👴), the pilot program from last year did ~20 miles. There's something like ~1800 miles of sidewalks in Minneapolis. I'm very skeptical of being able to staff up appropriately for that!

I strongly support sidewalks and walkability, yet I'm extremely skeptical of municipal sidewalk clearing proposals in the Twin Cities. I don't think it's possible for them to deliver the speed and quality necessary, let alone to justify the cost.

I'm in Chicago. Our mayor had a 6% approval rating until Trump started waging war on us. I feel like Mamdani will for sure be a better mayor than Johnson but people should definitely wait for his first hard decision as mayor

QTs filled with rabid anti-tech, anti-progress, pro-vandalism takes from people who seem committed to not knowing that human drivers are way more dangerous than Waymo self-driving cars. The cars will be in better condition & have more safety features than the average Uber/Lyft vehicle.

Someone on the Minneapolis subreddit caught Waymos being delivered. We need the City Council need to ban the use of driverless cars. The technology isn't there. Our city cannot be a testing ground for 1.5 ton autonomous projectiles.
