PD resources continue to go up but somehow this is a question at every single forum.

Even tho it’s not a matter of support as the Charter dictates that we must hire to that minimum.

On MPD officer minimum all candidates say yes they support hiring to at least the minimum.

my all of mpls write up is more diligently researched than the star tribune. i still have to update it for the latest campaign finance report but i listed every donor’s ward and excluded business address donations because that’s a tactic to hide their real address. strib didn’t differentiate there
taylordahlin.com
when i broke down all the donors to all of mpls, i included their wards and noted which ones were donating under the company address, because i searched every single address to find this information out, and i then excluded the company ones from my g graph. this. is. not. hard!

How does them shutting down and rebranding with the exact same people running the organization fall outside of scope?

I would bet that Frey never signs this. Let’s it go into effect without his signature. Would be a good button to push on the campaign trail!

City Council just passed the STOP Slumlords ordinance, which protects renters living in the city’s most neglected properties.

Landlords like Brian Fitterer who manage properties with significant property violations will no longer be able to automatically renew their licenses.

At what point does “falling for” this stuff over and over. While continuing to only examine the surface level, amount to deliberate disingenuous coverage?

i guess this is my mickey moore of 2025. screaming about john wall faking his address via first live tweeting the hearing, then blogging about it, then releasing the audio, while the star tribune act like ostriches with their head in the sand and won't touch it

this is very rambling and mashed together, because i am not a writer, just someone who pays attention and has lived in loring park for 15 years, but i couldn't get over elizabeth shaffer's comments about 311 at the LWV ward 7 forum - taylordahlin.com/f/311-stop-s...
311, Stop SLUMLORDS, Landlord Money, and the Ward 7 race
At the League of Women Voters Ward 7 forum on September 15th, candidates Katie Cashman and Elizabeth Shaffer were asked about 311 and accountability:

I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again.

There was a lot that passed during the 2023 legislative session that had long won over DFL legislators, they just needed to wait for majorities.

But the Northstar Promise Act was not that. Getting that bill passed was a massive accomplishment by Sen. Fateh

It actually doesn’t! She’s a stray we picked up off the street at ~6 weeks and she had a terrible sinus infection we had to treat with 12 days of antibiotics.

Now she just kinda sniffs in and out really heavily 😂😭

Apply this language to higher levels of government in this country and see how it sounds: "the executive is having his allies push to change the constitution so that he can hire whoever he wants to lead vital executive departments, with no confirmation vote from the legislative branch."

POWER GRAB: 6-5 majority of commissioners on this work group say council shouldn't get a confirmation vote for mayor's picks for directors of public works, community planning/economic development, civil rights, health, emergency management, regulatory services, assessor.

This could only be true if Frey's critics somehow tricked him into lying about banning no-knock warrants, issuing more vetoes of council majority votes than any mayor, appointing political patronage failures in important city staff positions, alienating civil servants,

Ahhh to be someone who’s every failing is someone else’s fault. Must be nice for him!

Also to the “it’s all projection” point for them. It truly is. Because this is just how they feel about (and how they will treat) progressives/leftists.
