This could only be true if Frey's critics somehow tricked him into lying about banning no-knock warrants, issuing more vetoes of council majority votes than any mayor, appointing political patronage failures in important city staff positions, alienating civil servants,

Ahhh to be someone who’s every failing is someone else’s fault. Must be nice for him!

Also to the “it’s all projection” point for them. It truly is. Because this is just how they feel about (and how they will treat) progressives/leftists.

This was an amazing piece!

The threats and hate directed at Temple Israel this week and the fire at Alhikma Islamic Center mosque last week are despicable and have no place in Minneapolis. 1/

Anti-Semitism has no place in our city, and the hate speech found at Temple Israel this morning is unacceptable. Minneapolis cannot, and will not tolerate violence against our communities, and we stand with our Jewish neighbors.

Golly gee. And who was the Mayor of the city during that time period from the documentary? Probably someone else!

While Mayor Frey and Chief O’Hara have attempted to claim that MPD only showed up at the ICE action on June 3rd to assist with crowd control, ICE agents certainly saw MPD’s actions differently.

In fact, the ICE Special Agent in Charge emailed O’Hara to say thank you that same day.
Title text: "ICE Thanks O'Hara & MPD" with the following quote below: "I cannot tell you how impressed my staff were as you stepped up and personally escorted that tactical vehicle through the crowd." Below that is a screenshot of an email sent from Jamie Holt, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Securities Investigations to Chief O'Hara.

Frey’s proposed 2026 budget defunds them, but emergency housing vouchers are funded in the 2025 budget; MPHA implemented the operational needs to get vouchers out in Q3 for resident use. It’s now Q4 & sitting in CPED. 100 vouchers could be in use right now: 50 for single residents, 50 for families.

Continues to be striking how, since Frey erected the greenway fence to Lake/Nicollet, the crowd has returned en masse to 2900 block of Blaisdell. Frey bleats “you can’t have encampments by home & businesses“ but that’s exactly where he’s pushed these folks. Meanwhile 50 housing vouchers go unfunded.

I feel like that group has already made up their mind and they’ll just use whatever they can to stand behind it. MPD and fears about crime in the city are the easy narrative to point to.

“He’s better than those other guys would be” I hear a ton of on the doors. Always from “public safety” voters.

Another opportunity for the rest of the state to dictate what they think the Twin Cities should do.

I don’t think I’m wrong to say that the vast majority of these would end up spending the vast majority of their time in Minneapolis or St Paul. More “Urban Playground” garbage.

Well, here it comes: @toreyvanoot.bsky.social reports that Waymo has hired lobbyists in Minnesota and been talking to state lawmakers, looking for legislative approval to operate in MN

And these same people will lose their mind if you take away a single parking space for a bike lane. Even though they just park wherever they want anyway.

Looking at you MPD cruisers constantly parked in the bike lane by me when officers go and buy coffee.

When I lived in St Paul there was a prominent restaurant owner who used our shared building patio as his personal parking spot. I spent almost a year calling traffic control on him with zero results. To the point where the building had to drill a sign into the ground to stop him.

What exactly are the requirements for being in contempt of Congress?

Bondi tells Blumenthal that "I'm not going to be lectured about integrity by someone who lied about being in the military." (Her disrespect for Democratic senators has been really over the top this morning.)

This is also a great example of how to moderate a debate. Tane was great. Much better than other examples we have recently seen.

Haven't watched this yet but apparently Becketwood had a mayoral forum with Jazz, Omar, DeWayne, and Jacob, and moderator Tane Danger would repeat questions until he got an actual answer.

Mpls for the Many Chair Chelsea McFarren- “ Jacob Frey is running on a lie. He’s actively campaigning on what has been a successful citywide program that he is simultaneously defunding. His priority isn’t making sure that this program is funded, his priority is getting reelected"
Mpls for the Many Chair Chelsea McFarren had this to say about Frey’s campaign running on a successful program he’s currently defunding:

“Once again, Jacob Frey is running on a lie. He’s actively campaigning on what has been a successful citywide program that he is simultaneously defunding. If Jacob Frey’s own budget is passed, Stable Homes, Stable Schools, as we know it, won’t exist at this time next year. But Mayor Frey isn’t concerned with the communities that could benefit from this program in the future, he’s only concerned with optics. His priority isn’t making sure that this program is funded, his priority is getting re-elected. Jacob Frey’s entire two terms of “leadership” have been lip service: telling our communities what they want to hear, while only prioritizing the interests of his corporate mega donors.”

mpls for the many press release - "Jacob Frey Running Campaign Ads for School Housing Program He’s Defunding"

"The budget the Mayor released in August is $3.2 million short of funding. If Jacob Frey’s budget is passed, Stable Homes, Stable Schools will cease to exist at this time next year."
MINNEAPOLIS — Stable Homes, Stable Schools has been a keynote policy for the City of Minneapolis since it was introduced in 2019. Mayor Jacob Frey and Council Members alike have lauded this cross-jurisdictional program that has served children across the city. There’s just one problem: the budget the Mayor released in August is $3.2 million short of funding the program. If Jacob Frey’s budget is passed, Stable Homes, Stable Schools will cease to exist at this time next year. According to Council Member Robin Wonsley’s Ward 2 newsletter:

“The Mayor’s staff shared that their current budget will result in the following projected budget shortfalls for Stable Homes Stable Schools: $3.2 in 2026, $4.3M in 2027, and $4.9M in 2028.”

The Strib got a week's worth of text complaints to Metro Transit -- 74 in total -- & published the 3 worst ones. Is 74 a lot? 10 complaints per day for the 2 light rail lines, which see 40K daily riders, seems pretty good to me actually. (.025% complaint rate.) www.startribune.com/metro-transi...
What a week’s worth of rider text messages reveals about Metro Transit’s problems
Serious crime is down on Metro Transit, but riders continue to report “quality of life” crime that makes some feel unsafe on light rail.
