👀 Frankly this is extraordinary. Beltway reporters may choose to dismiss this is a performance art but this is not normal. House/Sen Dems often have tactical differences but they never call out each other so publicly this way.

I keep going back and forth about whether the shutdown or the "CR" would be worse...but I keep coming back to this. What the phone CR does to D.C. is unforgivable. No Dem can sign off on this horror. It's punishing a mostly Black city for being Black.
People also need to understand this isn’t federal money, this is DC money collected through DC taxes. They’re openly stealing from the city with the intent to immiserate the people living there because they resent the idea they should be allowed to govern themselves.
