I wonder how many rolls of quarters the bouncer at TechNoir goes through each night.

If I was going to program an LA triple feature, and purposefully not including Heat, it would be The Terminator (the original), Speed, and Collateral. All three heroes versus villains stories set around town.

Reminds me of this excellent sign that I saw at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, Georgia.
Piano, which once belonged to Little Richard, with a sign on it saying "Do not attempt to play Little Richard's piano. He will know."

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

Two planes have taken off from Burbank in the last 30 minutes and they seem to have more flashing lights going? I’m not sure. I’m not a scientist.

“There is a common misconception that we store rocket or jet propellants on site; however, JPL has not worked on jet or rocket propulsion for over 60 years,” a spokesperson for JPL told L.A. TACO.

In my 30 years as a #StarTrek researcher, this will forever be one of my coolest finds: This screenshot from #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" shows both 24th/25th century Starfleet Captain Jean-Luc Picard ⬅️ and 20th/21st century thespian Sir Patrick Stewart ➡️ on screen at the same time. How, you ask? 🧵 1/6

Didn’t expect Anemone to be thematically brethren with Star Trek: The Next Generation’s season 4 episode 2 “Family,” but I’m not mad at it for it.

I worked a gig in the South Bay this week, so of course I’m watching Heat again this morning.

Brent was one of the founders of the Little Rock Film Festival where so many Arkansas filmmakers were able to get their start and interact with amazing filmmakers from around the globe. He did incredible work filled with empathy. You should check this out if you can.

I saw this in August. It is very good and very heartbreaking. Brent was a friend, and he and his brother Craig were unofficial mentors to so many of us Little Rock, Arkansas filmmakers. I had the pleasure of working with both on the Little Rock Film Festival for 10 years… youtu.be/bceerB407LY?...

It was there that I met my wife very early on in the festival and they both opened, not only my eyes, but so many peoples’ to what the possibilities were and are when it comes to filmmaking, working with others, and building community. Tomorrow would have been his 54th birthday.

All eyes on #3I/ATLAS ☄️

Our Mars Express & ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter will observe the comet around its closest approach to Mars on 3 October 2025, when 3I/ATLAS will be around 30 million km from the red planet.

Stay tuned and follow esa.int/3IATLAS 🔭🧪

It displays the orbits of Earth, Mars and the Juice spacecraft around the Sun, along with key dates and events as comet 3I/ATLAS travels through the inner Solar System in 2025. Coloured and numbered dots mark important observation points by telescopes and spacecraft.

Wow! I don't recall ever seeing an extended edge-on disk galaxy lensing a background galaxy like this before. Surreal (almost literally; Dali would love these). They kinda look like ships from Star Trek, too.
