@profanity.accountant Oh, oh, and maybe a comprehensive list of all swears, ranked by frequency?

@profanity.accountant can we get a, I dunno, daily maybe, report of the account with the greatest spread, vocabulary-wise? Anonymized, if necessary. Who swears the _broadest_?

In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu lies dreaming. I focus on my dreamwatcher machine, making minute adjustments in all five dimensions.

The Great Old One whimpers, vast limbs twitching in unease. What visions can terrify such an entity?

An ogre knocked - carefully - on the witch's door.

She looked up at the hulking figure. "Can I help you?"

"Do you know where giants live?"

"Haven't been any here for centuries. Why?"

The ogre blushed. "I... It's stupid, but... I want to be the small spoon."

"Hm. I have a shrinking potion."

Speaker at an event this week happily boasted that his school age kid was taking photos of homework maths questions, uploading them to ChatGPT then asking it to solve the problem.

Input the answer.
Homework done.
Nothing learnt.

We are so fucked.
And I swear, once again, this is not dunking on kids. We are seeing this at all levels--even grad students. AI + social media has had a profound impact on how we think and process our world, and we can't stop to reflect on it, because billionaires keep hurling addictive tech at us.

A reminder that AI was not invented to serve mankind but to help destroy itself.

The only market it makes money in is selling to War Inc.
Ukraine has for a while been using AI onboard (e.g. for processing video for target locking), mostly using Nvidia chips (on boards manufactured in China). It's expensive electronics, and as drones start to replace munitions it all needs to get a lot cheaper - and with a much less risky supply chain.

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

Train Dreams is such a beautiful film. And joins the list of the best Terrence Malick films Terrence Malick didn’t direct. Joel Edgerton gives the performance of his career. Restrained and subtle. Will Paxton provides the narration and there’s a sense of deep time few films achieve.
