🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

People shouting "But you need to FIGHT HARDER" at me is bullshit. How exactly? I call my Reps, have boycotted Target etc, cut off contact with the MAGA asswipes in my life, and am working my tail off for my students/ dept/ field. I am planting a garden and cultivating beauty+joy. It's all I can do.
