I've updated my piece to reflect CNN's new reporting that the CIA conducted a drone strike earlier this month on a port facility on the coast of Venezuela, citing "sources familiar with the matter." (Their report doesn't include a date for alleged strike. CIA/WH/US Special Forces haven't confirmed.)
Trump says US bombed alleged drug facility in Venezuela. No one knows if it’s true.
It could be a lie from social media, or a conflation of other stories. Either way, Americans need to know.

Beer Advent Calendar Day 20: Even More Xmas from Evil Twin Brewing! This imperial stout pours dark and beautiful with medium body. With coffee, dark chocolate, and toasty malt flavors, each sip reveals more flavors. It’s a hefty but balanced 12% ABV in this complex and tasty beer. Well done!

Beer Advent Canendar Day 19: Oberon Eclipse Rasberry Wheat from Bell’s Brewery! A fruit take on their flagship wheat beer. Strong rasberry flavor, but not overly sweet in my opinion. An easy drinking 5.8%, it’s a bit thin, but balanced for what it is. One to try if you like fruit-based beers!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 18: Fastwalker Interdimensional IPA from Wax Wings Brewery! A hazy, citrusy IPA made with Galaxy, Citra, and Simcoe hops in nice balance. It’s juicy, tasty and fresh at a respectable 7.2%. Another delicious local brew. So many good breweries in Kalamazoo, I can’t keep up!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 17: Throwback German Pilsner from Arvon Brewing Co! A tasty and light Pilsner, with to me almost lemony citrus notes, light bodied, nicely carbonated, 5% ABV. Clean finish and super refreshing! Another great beer from this brewery!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 16: Prague Underground from GR’s Citybuilt Brewing! A Czech Pilsner at 5.9%, this is light, with cereal, malt and floral, fruity notes too, but a good bitterness. Easy drinking, solid Pilsner and a nice change from IPA’s. And another great can from Citybuilt!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 15: Space Dream from Brooklyn, NY’s Other Half Brewing! A DDH oat cream IPA made with Galaxy hops, oats and milk sugar. It’s hazy and creamy, with grapefruit and tropical flavors, but not too sweet and good bitterness on the finish. It’s 6% and tasty!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 14: Alemania from Grand Rapid’s City Built Brewing! A crisp Mexican lager that’s a definite win in the awesome can category. 5%, light body, refreshing, and easy drinking but still with great lager flavor, with malt and grain. Eefined and clean. Very nice! And what a can!

DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Beer Advent Calendar Day 13: Hodag DDH Double IPA! From Transient Artisan Ales, this double dry hopped IPA comes in at 7.5%. Hazy and gorgeous, named after a legendary Wisconsin beast, it’s full of mango and fruit with a creamy mouth feel. It’s a sweet and fruity IPA that doesn’t apologize for it.

Beer Advent Calendar Day 12: Bell’s Big Hearted IPA! Part of Bell’s Two Hearted family, this imperial is a solid 9.5%. Citrusy and piney mostly (as you’d expect) with a bit of sweetness that offsets the alcohol presence. Not bold in the flavor profile, but very drinkable for a high-alcohol beer.

Beer Advent Calendar Day 11 (yeah, I’m way behind): Snake Eyes from Arvon Brewing! Another quality brew from Arvon, this is a hazy New England IPA. Hazy, foamy head, a bit chewy, with lists of citrus flavors mostly from Mosaic hops. A tasty beer and seems to me a good representation of the NE style.

You can skip the video if you want, but read the thread to understand the anti-semitism and neo-nazi ideology being presented to millions of Americans
1. “F*ck you Ben Shapiro and the midget horse you rode in on.”

Candace Owens, responding to Ben Shapiro’s speech at Turning Point USA, mainlines unquestionable Neo-Nazi propaganda, including dangerous Talmudic conspiracies.

Beer Advent Calendar Day 10: Long Strange Trip from Kickstand Brewing! This is a Belgian triple that pours light with some carbonation and a long-lasting head. Complex with each sip interesting. It’s 9.9% but you’d hardly know it (well, after a couple you might). A terrific beer well worth trying!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 9: Wingman Tropical Storm IPA! From Brewdog Brewing, which while made in Columbus, OH, is part of a chain based in Scotland. An imperial at 8.5% that’s strong with tropical fruit flavors. I’m not a big fan of the very sweet flavors, so I didn’t enjoy this one as much.
December 14, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Beer Advent Calendar Day 8: Ferndale Project Summer Blues! A double NE-style IPA from Detroit’s Eastern Market Brewery Co. Hazy and made with Galaxy and Mosaic hops. 8% and fairly fruity and the brewery tells us it passion fruit and blueberry. Not really my thing, but that’s more me than the beer.

Beer Advent Calendar Day 7: Old Nation’s Flat Brain Red IPA! A malty IPA counter balanced with citra hops. A lovely deep red, rich and tasty at 7.2% with a nice finish. The key here (imo) is how superbly they execute that balance between the malt and the hops. Really well done!

Beer Advent Calendar Day 6: I Got A Rock Kettle Sour! Another fine entry from GR’s Arvon Brewing. This is a fuity, sweet, very approachable beer at 5%, bursting with flavor. Not knowing quite what to expect, this surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. Another great beer from Arvon!
