With much debate about journalists favouring Twitter over Bluesky, full respect to Phil Smith at the Sunderland Echo. He’s really good at using Bluesky, and for obvious reasons, he’s a great source of reliable news about #SAFC #Sunlun

I would hope so Craig, there is development of local female talent, but the article is a little unbalanced. A couple of mentions of the Women's team and the main article about the men. I agree it's great they are mixing #SAFC

What an utter absurdity our Home Secretary has created -

Destroying British free speech, right to protest and with it undermining democracy.

It is not for the government to terrorise the public for political opinions they don’t want to hear.
Screenshot of BBC news saying police arrest 474 people at Palestine Action ban protest.

Heatwave across large parts of Europe. If you're riding around France in summer and don't have a team car then www.eau-cyclisme.com website can be very useful, lists places where you can get drinking water for free

I’m convinced this is how a bay leaf would talk
Cartoon by Stephen Collins for the Guardian, here's the script:

[Scene is the inside of a SOUP. Some CARROTS and BITS OF BROCCOLI are floating around and a STOCK CUBE and a BAY LEAF have just been dropped in.]

1
STOCK CUBE:
Alright lads - this is Bay Leaf.
My colleague from the spice rack.

2
BROCCOLI:
Hi Bay Leaf

BAY LEAF:
Yuh yuh hi

3
CARROTS:
You up for getting proper blended with us later, Bay Leaf?

BAY LEAF:
Nuh mate, getting scooped out before soup stage.

4
CARROTS:
Oh! So… you’re not being eaten then?

BAY LEAF:
Eaten! Haha

5
BAY LEAF:
Not allowed mate.

I’m afraid I’m a lil’ bit *toooo intense*...

6
BAY LEAF:
Just here for the flavour hit.
Special forces, y’know.
That’s why there’s just one of me.

7
BAY LEAF:
Over-deploy and you’d have this whole soup stiiinking of bay leaf…

8
BAY LEAF:
You might wanna stand back actually.
This place is about to get preeetty bay leafy...

9
[Silent pause]

10
CARROTS:
Are you doing something

BAY LEAF:
Sure am mate.

11
BAY LEAF:
Suuuuure am.

12
BAY LEAF [Getting scooped out by chef’s spoon]:
You need training to perceive it.

CARROTS:
OK

Quite the cri de coeur Gav, justified rage, condensed history, accurate and poetic. Also impressed you still had the energy to write it!

Felt compelled to write something about Luke O'Nien and his journey at Sunderland.

He has become the perfect antidote to the Rodwell, Gibson and Ndong era that preceded him and is now a club legend in my eyes.

Any shares appreciated ❤️

Visma goals:

Vingegaard = Tour/Vuelta, Simon Yates = Giro/Tour, PFP targeting the TDFF 100%, Marianne Vos aiming for MSR, and Wout and Olav Kooij also both heading to Giro.

Jonas targets Paris-Nice, Catalunya and Dauphiné too. Jorgenson keeps an almost identical programme
