Prime Minister Carney. Cut tariffs on Chinese EVs. We don’t have an EV industry to protect. We do have agriculture, fisheries and lumber to protect. Premier Ford needs to pivot from hoping to repair auto trade. Trump has said they don’t want our cars. 90% of Canadian production goes to the US.

Trump Orders Sweeping Withdrawal From International Institutions
Seeing the list in full makes the reality unavoidable: United States is stepping away not from one institution, but from the architecture.

The weirdest thing about Americans is how many of them think their laws apply to every person in the world.
But they're certain other countries' laws don't apply to them.

This is a dangerous and irresponsible response.

Cheering the illegal abduction of a foreign head of state and celebrating U.S. control over another country is wrong.

Canada cannot pick & choose when international law applies. If the rules only matter when it’s convenient, they don’t protect anyone

Their meat is priced _per package_ now, not per kilogram.
The photo above shows a 649 g tray (left) and a 733 g tray (right), both for $15.
So, if you're not careful, you're paying over 10% extra for chicken thighs!
This packaging change is hiding price inflation & gouging.

Canada is a middle power.

We must play China off the USA and eke out wins in between.

So now is the time to quit subsidizing American carmakers and bring cheaper and technologically better Chinese EVs here.

And Americas can have their shitty, expensive cars.
As auto companies retreat from Canada, do government subsidies still make sense?
Shutdown of production plants raises questions about the wisdom of taxpayer handouts to carmakers

Mark Carney is about to announce more of his “elbows up” major projects.

But under the surface, one that’s being sold as an Indigenous-led LNG project is actually — spoiler — American as hell.

That’s not even the worst part!

Using the notwithstanding clause to strip away human rights is an attack on democracy and must be fought with everything we've got. It started with the SaskParty's Bill-137 and now it's Alberta with Bill-2. This is rising authoritarianism (a la USA) and we need to call it out for what it is.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.
