Shame on @eventtickets.bsky.social! My wife, son, and I were supposed to see @alyankovic.bsky.social at the Starlight Theater in KC tonight, but can't. Why? Because our tickets were canceled with no notice. Supposedly going to get a refund, but I'm furious at the lack of communication. Avoid!

I'm doing the #shortstorychallenge2025 again. My first round assignment? A horror story about a hypothesis and a SCUBA diver. I have the glimmerings of an idea, but I don't know if I can do it justice in just 2,500 words. I've got a week. We'll see.

New @fallofcivspod.bsky.social podcast on the Mongol Empire is fantastic. Learning about ways the empire shaped the later world in ways I had never thought of. Consistently one of the most thoughtful, well-produced, and even moving historical podcasts.
