I’m going to be the old man (41) who talks about understanding the code the AI generates and being able to write it by hand. The kids will say I’m out of date, and I’ll never be sure they’re wrong. The indignity will never be lost on me that I’m talking about hand-writing god damn Javascript.

There are so many things in tech where “fix the next most painful thing” goes a long way towards improvement.
You can turn observability from team complaint to competitive advantage without ripping out the entire logging infrastructure.

Our approach? Fix the next most painful thing. Build momentum. Transfer knowledge.

1. Here's what I like about the points Cuban lays out: they break a large problem (switching over to a different healthcare system) into smaller chunks.

What I want to see from Dems/progressives: a series of smaller/more tightly-scoped bills that, collectively, shift us to more sane healthcare.
I believe wholeheartedly that it is achievable. But not by just wishing it will happen.

To get there we need to
1. Make the big insurance companies divest non ins biz.
2. Complete transparency on pricing, and the documentation behind the pricing.

Not a spoiler, but an Easter egg… I loved the Alford/Miller/Walsh reference that shows up in Season 5, Chapter 7 of Stranger Things. IYKYK

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

For the first time ever, I had to make a payment in crypto.

I can now confidently say that crypto payments combine the speed of a dial up modem and the ease of updating the drivers on a 1998 HP Laserjet printer.

There are two types of people: those who constantly force close any mobile apps not in use, and those who patiently explain, over and over again, why the first group is wrong.

Throwing some financial support toward @python.org? Excellent!

If you are a #Django user, consider also supporting the DSF.

The Django Software Foundation has been running a fundraiser for the past couple weeks. It ends it 5 days.

Let’s crunch some numbers.

- We live in the Midwest, so lower cost of living.
- We budget and track our spending; I’ve got good numbers on our groceries.
- We’re a family of four with two teens. Pretty average American family.
- We clip coupons and shop Meijer/Aldi, not Whole Foods.
