It's also been really fun to fully throw myself into painting in a serious way with like no stakes. like, I know I can do a good job & get a decent grade so it's fun to just sort of mess around and try to challenge myself in different ways with each homework assignment.

Oh totally. I mean, I'm also tearing through the Vampire Academy series right now & having a blast which I think is probably in the same sort of camp of delicious trash haha. So I'm looking at this from a very glass house.

I have no problem with a book being a vehicle for erotica. So far I don't know that I'd agree that it's that. There's a lot of plot. I'm just not sure the plot is for me! But that's okay! I'm glad ppl are having fun with it.

haha yeah that's exactly how i described it to my partner. & yeah the military stuff just doesn't feel properly thought through. more like it's echoing other works that have thought about that a little more.

however, if you like the idea of "what if i had a special bond with a dragon" but want the world building and characters to actually have some teeth..... u gotta read "To Shape A Dragon's Breath." That was my top read of 2025 for sure.

That being said, I understand why this is a popular book. I think it's probably a really fun read for a different type of reader!

Maybe I'm missing something because I'm listening to this in not my first language but it really seems like the thesis was "wouldn't it be cool to have 2 dragons" & not much else. I'm not even a world building girlie and the details of the world make me go? but why??

I would say pretty much every pant pattern I've ever sewn has needed some adjustments post-sewing and yet.... I will never learn and make a toile. (this isn't a dig on those patterns, it's super normal to need to adjust fit because bodies are not standardized and pattern grading is)

Fortunately this fabric is busy enough to hide minor fit issues until I have the time/energy/will to fix them. 🙏😤
