A striking thing about articles I’ve read claiming to “study the effects” of generative AI on student writing skills and consumption of information is that (1) they nearly always find the effects are negative and (2) most “conclusions” are still written assuming that we must use AI, for some reason.

Oh no, the thing that literally no creative wants, that is making people more stupid, spreading fake news, ruining careers, coaching children to take their own lives and destroying the environment all whilst losing its owners billions would tank if they had to stop the art theft that makes it work.

Many things will affect how well a student will do in school. Some you can control, others you can't

One that affects every student (and teacher), and that we can control, is indoor air quality

In this video I walk through how and offer some solutions

A proposed 2% wealth tax in France would affect 1800 people, and bring in $20 billion a year. It’s overwhelmingly popular, but it seems that Macron would rather let the far-right take power than tax the super-rich. From Robert Kuttner: trib.al/Snv1jbR

Today on TAP: A crucial political meeting in Paris today will force a choice between a popular wealth tax and a deepening political crisis.

Well gang, it's happened: OpenAI has built a platform filled exclusively with fake, AI content.

I've been playing with it for a few days, and I think it's safe to say we're basically kissing reality goodbye.

Here's the story: www.npr.org/2025/10/03/n...

We're reading the stories that have already been submitted. We've got stories that make us laugh, gasp, think hard and occasionally be very puzzled (please read the guidelines!), and we're open for more. Submit your speculative fiction under 5000 words!
translunartl.bsky.social
The general submissions portal is now open for all writers. We are looking for speculative fiction stories, 5000 words or under, and our preference is for something that is, more or less, fun.
