I hope everyone isn't just realizing that both Wicked movies are shot and lit in a way that, even when they decide to use practical effects, everything still looks fake as hell. Here I am being right back in March. bsky.app/profile/kait...
The only #Oscar worthy thing about the production design of #Wicked was how they managed to make a film that utilized primarily practical sets look fake as hell. That train is real, looks fake, and I hate it. I had someone look at me like I was lying when I told them it was real. #Oscars2025

For all the people acting smug about #WakeUpDeadMan not showing in enough theaters, they should look up the date when the two-movie Netflix deal was finalized. Spoiler alert: we were heading into the second year of a certain pandemic, and the future exhibition was in question.

🧵 Today is the first time since 2004 that I'm not beginning National Novel Writing Month. I had a feeling things were bad when I looked at their fundraising goals last year, but I thought they would scale back, not nuke the entire event and the entire website.

I went to the dentist today and told my hygienist I was seeing #BlackPhone2. She wasn't sure about seeing it in theaters because she sometimes gets a little screamy in horror movies. Ma'am, horror movies, more than anything, thrive in packed theaters with people reacting around you.

Thanks to an informal experiment I've been conducting, early findings suggest that the best way to prevent YouTube from radicalizing young men is to watch K-Pop content. The K-Pop algorithm is way stronger than those losers, and you get to watch a bunch of really awesome people be awesome on stage.

I saw someone say that the "blueberry" comment will stick with that little girl because, in kid logic, it makes it sound like it was her fault. Without trauma dumping, I can confirm that one poorly worded statement to a kid about something not their fault/out of their control will stick with them.

Once again, the NYAD towel I got from #Netflix a few years ago is coming in clutch. It's that weird, super-thin material that the mere idea of putting on my body makes my skin crawl, but this is Apartment Disaster #2, where it has stepped in to soak up leaking water.

The Superman, James Gunn, and Zack Snyder discourse is so boring. There is nuance. The Snyder versions of the characters are more than likely not coming back, but (as I said 2+ years ago) Snyder could make a banger one-off, buckwild Elseworlds film.

Still parsing out all of my thoughts on #Highest2Lowest, but the 4th wall break when the Yankees fan turns, looks directly at the camera, and yells "Boston sucks!" might one of my favorite moments of the year.

The only people who should be invested in the box office of any film are: 1. the studio. 2. Industry pundits [Yo]. 3. The cast and crew, but only if they gave a deal where they get royalties from the box office. Joe and Jill Normal should not give a shit.

It's such a small thing, but as a woman, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Zora's slick back, tight ponytails, and buns in #JurassicWorldRebirth. The costume designer did a great job with a practical, but still feminine outfit, but a ponytail with no flyaways? We love.
