Like normally when a story randomly veers off like that it's at least like, to explore or reinforce a theme, but I still have no idea what the fuck the point of the Gyro chapter is. It doesn't really say anything that hasn't already been iterated. There's just a fucked up guy out there. God it rocks

It's like my favorite thing ever when a story has what basically amounts to a "bad ending" right in the middle but then there's a timeskip to years later showing how people have been coping/getting by after it, and then someone finally picks the torch back up and makes things right

I think being able to go "LOL this rocks" at and then just move on from something that clearly sucks is a vital survival strategy for the post-Information Age malaise, but if you let it go too far then one day you wake up surrounded and adored by people you hate because they thought you were serious
