White PDXers, now is the time to reach out to and be ready to close ranks around your BIPOC neighbors. You are the whitest metro city in the US, and that is going to paint instant targets on the backs of anyone who isn’t.

That was true in 2018, now I’m not so sure.

Anyone out there familiar with Highland Pro? It’s TWICE deleted all of the writing in a document for no apparent reason, wiping hours of work. Does this happen to other people?

I don’t want to give up on it because I like the UI and I paid for it, but I don’t think this is a risk I can keep taking.
kaneicaruslynch.bsky.social
I'm genuinely wondering, this isn't rhetorical!

Serious question — would DC be willing to publish this now?

While I got my knuckles rapped by corporate America for being rude and tasteless about a guy who dreamed of the stoning of me and everyone I love, Fox's Brian Kilmeade advocated explicitly for the state murder of all homeless people -- on live TV, no less -- to virtually no response.

Immigrants are a social good, anti-immigrant propaganda is basically all lies, and any approach to the "problem" that doesn't start form those two points is worthless

Do people seriously look at Trump, RFK Jr. etc and think "these guys are going to build a stable and ideologically coherent regime that is going to be around for a long time?"
kaneicaruslynch.bsky.social
How many artists and thinkers of the 20th century can now only be mentioned with a huge asterisk because they became apologists for evil regimes?

What makes their modern equivalents so certain the same thing won't happen to them?

reposted this today because the inverse is also true:

if you abandon trans people right now, you are abandoning civil rights period.

if you can't stand up for trans people when it matters, no one should, or will, ever trust you when the bullseye moves to the next target.
joshuaerlich.bsky.social
the thing about trans rights is that we fight the civil rights issues of our time. nazi chuds have made this the issue of our time.

it's not more *important* than other civil rights issues, but it is the battleground of the moment, and we have to meet the moment to support everyone's rights.
lukeoneil47.bsky.social
Centrists bigots and right wingers have this all backward. YOU are the ones constantly bringing up trans issues. I would be happy to not think about this shit every day of my life unless I was talking to or reading something by one of my trans friends and thought of it in passing. SHUT THE FUCK UP

I got a couple who were semi-pro but a few were just friends and family who I thought had good voices for the characters.

I also had another cartoonist interview me before doing q&a which made the whole thing feel fancy.

I had actors read from my comic along with a slideshow of panels and it was really fun.

One of my colleagues and a union comrade was abducted at the Camarillo action yesterday.

We still don't know where he is, who is holding them, or any other information about his status.

If you're in the area, please reach out to the folks listed in the press release and donate to the bail fund.
