I walked my daughter (10) to school today, ~2km after a dentist appointment. OC could have been an option but the route is now so infrequent I was a good way home when the bus there passed by. Walked on and by some dilapidated city assets. But @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social priority is Lansdowne.

Sadly I’d say those won’t work, your bike rack is a pretty standard bike rack but those bags look like they fit something proprietary on that rad bike. These have been sitting in a closet for a few years. They say waterproof, and you’re welcome to them.

Well there’s a small win for safe cycling, or at least a nail in the coffin for F$&cking sharrows. After a safety audit at the behest of @riverwardriley.bsky.social these stupid bollards and sharrows on McCarthy road will be removed.

Shift work affords days off during the week, so biked the 4km from home to Mooney’s Bay to launch the kayak (did 9km in the boat). Only 0.7km of that bike was on a MUP, otherwise road through River Ward @riverwardriley.bsky.social .On the short ride crossed paths with about a dozen other cyclists:

Sunday suburban cycle shopping #ottbike

The teams have been doing an excellent job on the roads. Before the snow started today I saw many that were dry. Sidewalks, that’s a different story. It’s sad watching a mostly clear road get plowed and salted again from a sidewalk that’s not only untouched by plows, but has road snow dumped on it.

What I faced on my midmorning commute yesterday. Blue lines are where the sidewalk is. Prioritizing roads shouldn’t have this big a negative on pedestrians.
