Best chips I ever had were from my local Chinese when I lived in Brighton. They triple cooked them, and did the final cook fresh for you whilst you waited, and they were absolutely heavenly. Perfectly crisp outside, fluffy and light inside. Just amazing.

I was just saying something similar!

I think this Uncloaked shows another unique thing about the UK shows: there’s so many fans! The past contestants are fans! Claudia’s a fan! Ed Gamble’s a fan! People are invested and into it. I don’t think Alan Cummings gives a shit. The US contestants just see it as one of many appearances on the reality TV circuit.

Genuinely makes you think about those weird little cultural differences between US and UK that it works with this lot. I’d like to say it’s something about people not being constantly in self-promotion mode? But it’s really just down to who they cast.

I’m also not convinced he was even wearing glasses. The shape of the side of the lens catching the light in the upscaled version doesn’t match the lighter shape in the original, and I’m not seeing the temple of the glasses either.

Just discovered that the Lowlander Cafe has closed down and is now a generic gastropub, and I might cry. Somewhere I could reliably buy a Kasteel Donker and bitterballen in London, and it’s no more. Crap.

Yeah, I’d be tempted to switch except recently I became lazy and started giving my gmail address out instead of my personal domain alias. God knows how long I’d have to keep watching it to ensure I’d updated it everywhere.

Is anyone else experiencing a significant uptick in Gmail spam false positives? About 3/4 of my legitimate emails are suddenly being marked as spam. Stuff like Uber receipts, emails from my daughter’s school, courier delivery notifications etc.
