Institutions, organizations, ministries, and systems are not Jesus Christ. Nor is Christendom the same as the living body of Christ. I fear many of us have confused Christendom, or our little corner of it, with Christ. They are not, nor have they ever been, the same.

I will never downplay the seeds this man has sown.

And I will always pray that they wither, so that no one (including him & his children) has to eat from that kinda tree.

The “why?” Of mass shooting is of secondary importance to the “how?” The whys of mass shootings are myriad and mostly born out of the unpredictability of mental illness. The how is the same across the board: they went to a store and easily bought something capable of killing dozens of people.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz after touring "Alligator Alcatraz": "These detainees are living in cages. The pictures you've seen don't do it just. They are essentially packed into cages. 34 detainees per cage...they get their drinking water & they brush their teeth where they poop, in the same unit"

I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.

This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

As just a general point it's remarkable to me that Trump (+GOP) managed to come up with a bill that combines savage cuts and big electorally scary numbers of people who lose health care AND drive the debt through the roof.

In addition to kicking millions of Americans off their health insurance, cutting taxes for the wealthy, and adding trillions to the deficit, other parts of Trump’s Budget are also harmful and unpopular.

We need to make sure more people learn about them.
Three Things in Trump’s Budget That Aren’t Getting Enough Attention
They might affect the bill’s fate… if more people learn about them and speak up.

This is a travesty & a nightmare. The US was a founder of @gavi.org. It lowers global vaccine costs, has vaccinated 1B children, & averted 19M deaths. This pull out will cost 100s of thousands of children's lives a year - and RFK Jr will be personally responsible.

Republicans thought Barack Obama wearing a tan suit was disrespectful of the office. Now @GOP Presidents drop F-bombs and no one blinks. Sell crypto, gold painted cellphones in office for personal enrichment and takes free luxury jets from influence-seeking foreign leaders. I miss the tan suit.

In a respectable country, Mike Lee would be expelled from the U.S. Senate expeditiously.

But, if we were a respectable country, the current occupant of the White House would not be there.

So we are left with these shameless institutions reminding us that we are not respectable.

If you replace “Confederate” with “Nazi,” it’s pretty easy to see the absurdity of this claim.

It’s not about demonizing individuals.

It’s about clearly condemning the cause they (passionately or dispassionately) fought for. 1/3
JD Vance: “I feel like something happened like 10 years ago where every, it’s like you have to think that every single person that who fought for the Confederate side was an evil person. I just think that’s so stupid.”
