If your industry can't survive without unpaid use of other people's licensed work, your industry is not viable.

If the "AI Industry" values access to these works, let them negotiate with creators in good faith and offer them fair payment for their work.

But don't be surprised if we say no.

I'm TERRIBLE at estimating how long my first drafts will be. My 1st book I thought would be 95-100K words. It was 140K. My second I thought would come in at 85-90K. It was 110K. Starting a YA/New Adult novel now that should be a tight 65-70K. Any guesses where it ends up?

I just finished Douglas Adams: The Ends of the Earth - it explores his philosophy, writing and influences using clips of his audio archives interviews with his friends. Particularly enjoyed learning more about his conservation work. Audio book only - highly recommend.

I refuse to believe that a majority of voters wanted naked children to be kidnapped away from their parents and put into U-Hauls. I DON'T believe it. This is an abomination and we must all say so with one voice.

The President of the United States told the Generals to inform them he'd be sending them to war against US Citizens.

That's an unlawful order, and the survival of the Republic depends upon the Generals knowing that and acting accordingly.

This is the moment. This is how democracies end.

"Not taking a penny in benefits" - huh? immigrants aren't eligible for benefits anyway?!

This is just punishment theatre. Pointlessly painful. Well. The pain is the point.
