The Word made Flesh is out today! I've not seen it in the flesh myself yet, but this is a happy day after many years of work.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

Due to Academia(.)edu licensing agreement, which permits the use of your likeness, voice, and publications in any manner they choose, I, like many others, have decided to leave the platform. You can now find my research on ResearchGate instead.

UC Berkeley gives the Trump admin the names of 160 faculty + students for a federal investigation into “alleged antisemitic incidents.”

Judith Butler, one of the targeted scholars, tells me: "It is an enormous breach of trust... It's shocking. Did you consider not complying with this request?”

Calling #earlymodern and historians of religion! I'm looking for work on food, eating and fasting among religious radicals around 1700. I've found some work on Jansenists and Pietists, but would love to know more about all the other groups out there. Very grateful for any ideas!
