This great gray owl has been a regular along the highway when I drive into town. You can tell it is a hatch year bird even with its wings closed. All of the flight feathers (including the tail) are relatively new and browner than the rest of the body feathers. 🪶🌿

I was out in the backyard when the local wolf chorus started up. Such an amazing sound. There was one calling from north east of my cottage and the pack was answering from the southwest. I apologize for my breathing. I had to run into the house and find my phone. I’m still vibrating.
