I also just remembered that years of 'kakkoi' being translated as 'cool' has done insane damage to English speakers people's understanding of that word. Its not 'cool' its 'good looking'. You are going to fuck yourself using it like English speakers use cool.
The fun thing about learning Japanese is how annoying subtitles start to get, even when you understand why the localizers change what they did, its just a flag in your brain constantly going "that's only kind of what they said"
