I'm sure cats increase their mass by several orders of magnitude when they want attention
January 12, 2026 at 4:49 PM
ha ha, that's a very clear instruction!
January 12, 2026 at 4:48 PM

The laptop is vanquished

You've ignored my question about expectations: do you really want young men to feel it's fine to track their partners? And I'll add to that: do you want young women to feel that they have to go along with that from their partners?

Daphne has been on WhatsCat coaching Michael about acceptable levels of service and how to ensure that humans don't fall short

"Illness is not an excuse for poor service, human."

Maria!! 😍 Yeah, it's a brilliant method! You barely have to touch the dough and it works every time!
January 12, 2026 at 3:26 PM
ha, glad you're here and enjoying the bread posts!

Once it's risen, put it in a 180-degree oven with a pan of water in the bottom to create steam, bake for 45 minutes. Slice, slather with butter, stuff in face. It's pretty much foolproof and very forgiving as a method, plus you don't really have to knead it.

leave to bubble for several hours (I do that at bedtime then do the next stage first thing next morning). Add another jug of flour plus a teaspoon or so of salt, mix with your hands until you've got a bouncy dough. Put that in a bread tin to rise (three or four hours, less in summer).

what I love about this is that it's dead easy. I use a Pyrex pint jug to measure everything: put one jugful of strong plain white bread flour in a bowl, mix with a teaspoon and a half of dried yeast (I use Fermipan), add another jugful of warm water and mix til it looks like sloppy wallpaper paste
Fermipan | Instant dried yeast | 500g
This 500g bag of instant active dried yeast is perfect for smaller professional kitchens and home baking.
