Got to love an email about an upcoming training session for library staff on AI that says 'I've tried to take a neutral stance with my part but do feel free to be more polemical'. Oh, I shall my friend, I absolutely shall...

I love getting emails from @scholtom.bsky.social. His predilection for all caps rivals that of the orange abomination yet somehow it is always entirely appropriate for whatever he's asking/haranguing/gossiping about!

After 24 hours in Belfast I can safely say I still know my way round without any issue or map, but good lord this place has changed. Mostly (and fairly obviously) for the better but I’d prefer far fewer hen parties. These were not a feature in my childhood and teen years for sure.

A rainy day in the motherland, so a museum trip is always the way to go and I very much enjoyed both this piece but also the confusion of many Americans as to what it was

I’m entirely in on this approach. Where do I sign?

Anne- what we need from publishers is transparency, and evidence of impact. Explain to us why you need the money you do. Seems overly difficult to get/ understand usage - need both data and user stories about impact. Helps make case to administration. #OASPA2025

Chonky boi clearly prefers sausage rolls to dainty sandwiches. Like a proper Yorkshire lad. @wrunipress.bsky.social
A crocheted toy whippet sat behind two platters of food. One is full of triangle sandwiches and the other is almost empty, save for two sausage rolls

I treated myself to a bottle of fizzy wine tonight, cause I deserve nice things. Just opened it and the cork exploded out of the bottle without me touching it, wine went everywhere and I've somehow sliced my finger open in quite a blood spurty manner on the muselet. Good mood, ruined.

To call any research hobbyist is to deliberately demean it, as if what really has value is 'stuff which flatters the plans of a here to day gone tomorrow Minister' Specialisation is one thing, but what of breadth, of truly supporting a community? You can't build a University for Current Fads & hope

A very exciting day today where my daughter has her first day at big school. And by big school I mean the BBC, where she’s going to spend the next two years doing an apprenticeship in production. She refuses to send me a photo of herself on her doorstep in her smart clothes, though, which is sad.
