What sets you apart from others is the “handwriting” of it all—your unique voice. Mine is whimsical and musical. Soulful. Sensitive. “Adornment” is 12x12” with vintage beads and hand-stitching from series “Bright Curiosities”. #sandiegoart #buymoreart #findyourvoice #bewhole #radicalacceptance

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

If RFK wants to meaningfully decrease rates of depression, he can support paid family and maternity leave, equal pay for women, universal healthcare, and fully funded public schools.

Stigmatizing medication that treats the mental impact of a country that devalues your existence won’t cut it.

Art can feel like sunshine, or light, or darkness. It can be a moment, an experience, or a place we can’t find again. It says what we can’t. It gives us what we need to hear, see, feel, or know. It’s ideas and color and storytelling. It’s respite. Sending you light and love today. 🥰

I am reading “Little Women” with my girls. It opens up the floodgates for me, as I have read it so many times in my life that I know parts almost by heart.

It hits differently now. “I am angry nearly every day of my life …” says Marmee. Me too, Marmee. Me too. Louisa May Alcott was a genius.

Let me emphasize: Elon Musk has not been confirmed by Congress. His “department” was never actually enacted. No one other than Trump has given him any authority.

Democrats and any Republicans with a spine need to step in and stop this madness.

I don’t know how to exist in 2025. Sometimes the fear feels impossible. Massive. I don’t know much, but I know I will keep painting and creating to bring what good I can bring into this broken world. 💙 Sending you love and wishing you light today.

Watercolor portraits help me sort my feelings. Lately, digital watercolor has been doing the same thing. The layers seem to break open the fear I have been working through. The washes of color soften painful thoughts.
