Through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, countries are deploying their firefighters, helicopters, and airplanes, alongside the EU's own rescEU firefighting fleet, working hand-in-hand with local teams to fight the flames.
A firefighter in protective gear faces a large wildfire, with flames engulfing dry vegetation. The European Union flag is displayed in the top right corner. Text on the image reads: 'Supporting European countries affected by wildfires.

Tim and I have been reading & talking about BRICS over the last few weeks. What is this group of countries really about? Not so much an anti-western or an anti-dollar bloc; these days it’s more a “remaking of the material basis of a new sovereignty, in a new era of globalization.”

Quaise is taking millimeter wave drilling out of the lab and in to the real world.

Why does it matter?

Millimeter wave drilling can unlock greater depths to access high temperature geothermal energy.
