Yeah, I mean logically there *should* be no numerical diff btwn these things, but psychologically the difference is huge. A tax penalty for childlessness communicates that the policy is meant to curb bad behavior. (Like taxes on cigarettes). Not having kids is perfectly fine behavior!

The thought that "only Gavin can save us" is so fucking disrespectful to the 1000s of regular-ass people actually resisting. A handful of Chicagoans saved a man from being kidnapped by ICE b/c they showed up. We don't have to suck shit from Gavin Newsom b/c he uses hair gel. Get a grip.
